Product Line
Quartz (SiO2) is a birefringent material used in polarizers like wave plates and windows. It has two refractive indices, splitting light into ordinary and extraordinary rays. Z-cut quartz maintains beam polarization and transmits 90% in the 0.18-3.5μm range, suitable for IR and VIS spectrum. It also transmits well in the Terahertz region, used in airport scanners.
