MEETOPTICS helps a global community passionate about Optics and Photonics to find optics. We know you care about how your information is collected and how it is used, this is why we take your privacy very seriously and make every effort to safeguard your personal data.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and treat your information from all our websites, emails, social media accounts and services, and provided direct to us at events, trade shows, conferences, workshops or services inquiries (herein together “MEETOPTICS”, “we” or “us”).

We have implemented data security measures in accordance to global regulations including the European GDPR, Spanish LOPD, United States and Swiss regulations. If you believe that we may have collected information that does not comply with your country’s regulation, please contact us.

This privacy policy may be updated in order to adapt to new legislation.

What information do we collect?

1.- Non-personal data collected automatically such as tracking information, IP addresses or other data related to usage on the MEETOPTICS website.

This type of information is used to determine how users interact with the MEETOPTICS website. We save information about what searches users make and which products are added to the cart or selected as favourite. Other areas of the site automatically store non-personal information in order to improve the user experience of the site.

MEETOPTICS belongs to MEETOPTICS LABS S.L., Carrer de Jordi Girona, 1-3, C3 S1, 08034 Barcelona.

MEETOPTICS LABS S.L. controls the processing of the Personal Information related with MEETOPTICS.

What is the information used for?

Personally Identifiable Information that you provide directly to us is only used to provide your requests for services and information. For example, using your contact information to respond to your customer service requests.

We may use this information to prevent illegal activities, to enforce the MEETOPTICS Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.

Non-personal data collected automatically and cookies are used to create a more personalised experience for users. We and our optical component partners use your personal information to process your quotes requests. We do not share Personally Identifiable Information with third-parties except by legal obligation, in which case, you would be informed beforehand.

MEETOPTICS connects with Google Analytics which collects non-personal information and uses cookies so that we can create a more personalised experience for users. To ensure that this data is kept non-personal we do not share your full IP with Google Analytics.

In some cases, we may integrate external software such as Google’s Invisible CAPTCHA that collects non-personal information about users for security reasons, and google fonts, where you browser will ask google to download the fonts to visualise the site correctly.

We use cookies and non-personal information to enable us and the third parties we partner with to design more suitable products for you based on your search preferences.

How do we make sure your data is protected?

To protect and prevent unauthorized access to your personal information, maintain data accuracy, prevent accidental loss, destruction, damage or theft of data, MEETOPTICS implements and maintains security and organizational measures with physical, technical and administrative controls. Children’s privacy

As stated in our Terms of Service MEETOPTICS is not to be used by people under the age of 16. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from someone under the age of 16, we will delete it from our database.
