Optical Prisms

Prisms are optical components that reflect and transmit light while modifying the light path of an incident beam. MEETOPTICS search classifies optical prisms by their applications, allowing you to find deviation prisms, dispersion prisms, displacement prisms, expansion prisms, homogenizing prisms, reflective prisms and rotation prisms from trusted suppliers. You can choose between Edmund Optics, Thorlabs, OptoSigma, EKSMA Optics, Knight Optical, as well as custom optical suppliers such as Comar, LAYERTEC, LaCroix, LightPath, PLX, or SSI.

A crucial factor in the performance of an optical prism is its shape. For example, light entering in a corner cube prism deviates light differently than a wedge prism because of differences in substrate thicknesses. The angle of incidence (AOI) and angle accuracies also affect prism performance. Right Angle Prisms with a 45º AOI and ATR Prisms with a 30ª AOI will also work differently. Getting specific results also depends on the material: BK7, N-BK7, UV Fused Silica, N-SF11, Calcium Fluoride (CaF2), Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) or Germanium (Ge).
